Card Fraud - Plymouth

All retailers are asked to be aware of Scam reported to police and currently being used in the Plymouth area.

Two men reported to have purchased goods valued under £9.50, when card machine given to purchaser for pin the second man distracts the retailer whilst the other man changes cash total to £950, he then makes retailer aware of mistake but uses a different card for the refund.
These men were described as Eastern European.

Others using same method of fraud in city are described as Asian/late teens-20s/slim/5ft 8-11” tall with British/Possibly London accents.

Please exercise caution when dealing with customers handling card machines, report all incidents of this nature to police, dialling 999 if offenders are still in the area quoting CR/082364/20.
