Appeal after victim suffers broken jaw

Police are appealing for information over an assault in Exmouth in which a man aged in his 20s was knocked unconscious and a suffered broken jaw.

The incident happened in The Strand, near to Exmouth Kebab House, at around 1.15am on Saturday 18 July.

Officers have urged any witnesses to come forward.

A 20-year-old man from Tiverton has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released under investigation.

A 17-year-old boy, also from Tiverton, has attended a voluntary interview and is helping police with their investigation.

Enquiries are ongoing into the matter.
