UK Claims Advisory scam

Alert message sent 22/10/2019 13:43:00

Information sent on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police

Police would like to make you aware of the following scam which could affect your business.

We have received reports of a Scam going around. Members of public have been contacted by phone from a person claiming to be from The UK claims advisory group and indicated that the person being called is due money of over £3000. A cheque will be hand delivered but in return the recipient needs to show them Amazon vouchers to the value of £200. These will be the "fee" for tracing that the money is owed and is expected to be handed over once the cheque is cleared. The cheque will not clear and the inspection is the opportunity for the scammer to note down the voucher numbers which will be redeemed the same day of the first visit.

Should anyone receive similar contact, please report this to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040, or online at

Fraud advice can be found on the Devon and Cornwall Police website.
