Police appeal following collision between car and 11-year-old girl

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision between a car and an 11-year-old girl in Redruth today (Monday 21 October).  

The incident happened on the B3300 Falmouth Road, near to the junction with Treruffe Hill, at around 1pm.  

The ambulance service also attended the scene.

The local girl suffered potentially life-changing injuries and was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske where she is receiving specialist treatment and care.

Local police officers and specialists from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full forensic examination.

Police have asked witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene.
